It is always worth watching these maiden contests at the better meetings and this seven furlong event for two-year-olds is no exception, featuring as it does a field of impeccably bred, mainly unraced youngsters.

3:45 Vodafone Ireland Foundation supports Gaisce Ballycorus Stakes
This Group Three, run over seven furlongs usually attracts a field of mixed abilities including some horses who have proven themselves at this specialist distance and others that might be expected to get further in time.

4:15 Seamus & Rosemary McGrath Memorial Saval Beg Stakes
A decent staying contest, run over fourteen furlongs with the pick of the entries probably being Aidan O'Brien's Ormonde Stakes runner-up Age Of Aquarius.


Monday May 31

Goodwood

3:10 Festival Stakes
There are few better places to watch your Bank Holiday racing than the beautiful Sussex course and on a modest card, this ten furlong Listed event is the highlight.

Redcar

4:10 totetrifecta Flexi Betting Zetland Gold Cup
A great betting heat, this Heritage Handicap over ten furlongs features a big field of handicappers with the usual mixture of veterans and progressive youngsters for punters to weight up.


Wednesday June 2

Nottingham

4:15 totepool Flexi Betting Conditions Stakes
A potentially intriguing little event at this Midlands course, which could feature some of the country's better milers.


Friday June 4

Epsom

1:40 Investec Diomed Stakes
This Group Three is run over an extended mile and is likely to feature some thoroughly exposed sorts. As ever at Epsom, the ability to handle the unique gradients is the key.

2:45 Investec Coronation Cup
This is a mouth-watering clash of Classic contenders from years past and should be one of the more straightforward races for punters to study this meeting.

4:05 Investec Oaks
This year's Oaks looks to be a wide open affair, with several fillies clustered together at the head of the antepost market. Henry Cecil's Musidora Stakes winner Aviate is favourite, but also prominent in the betting are the 1000 Guineas seventh Rumoush and Aidan O'Brien's Irish 1000 Guineas fourth Remember When.

4:50 Investec Scurry Stakes
The pace is likely to be frenetic in this seven furlong Listed dash for three-year-olds.


Saturday June 5

Epsom

2:10 Investec Woodcote Stakes
A Listed contest for two-year-olds that is a tricky one to unravel, partly because you can't be sure how these youngsters will take to the quirky course and partly because many of them will be unexposed.

2:40 Princess Elizabeth Stakes
A Group Three for fillies and mares run over the extended mile. It hasn't always lived up to its status but it represents a good punting race with most of the horses on show having plenty of form in the book.

3:15 Investec Entrepreneurial Class Dash
Those who like to get stuck into tricky handicaps will be in their element here as they try to solve the puzzle that is this big field cavalry charge down the fastest sprint course in the country.

4:00 Investec Derby
Irish horses have once again dominated the betting for the big one. Jan Vermeer's cosy win in the Gallinule Stakes has moved him to the head of the market but equally popular is fellow Ballydoyle inmate and 2000 Guineas disappointment St Nicholas Abbey.


Musselburgh

2:35 totepool Edinburgh Castle Conditions Stakes
One of the best cards you will see at this course includes this Class Two event over five furlongs that could feature some highly promising two-year-olds.

3:10 totesport.com Edinburgh Cup
A great betting event, this is a Heritage Handicap run over twelve-and-a-half-furlongs and confined to three-year-olds. Unearthing a progressive or unexposed sort who is likely to improve for a step up in trip could be the key to this one.

3:40 totescoop6 Scottish Sprint Cup
Another decent handicap, this five furlong dash is likely to feature a big field and should be an exciting spectacle as well as a busy betting heat.
