JCB Truimph Hurdle favourite Mille Chief has pulled out of his prep run at Huntingdon on Thursday after an unsatisfactory scope.
His preparations for the March showpiece have now been put hold until the end of this month where he will now go for the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton. Currently trading at 7.6 on Betfair, the Alan King trained four-year-old has impressed many with wins already this season at Kempton and Huntingdon.
"Mille Chief could not have breezed better, but I was not happy with the subsequent scope so we will keep him back for the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton on February 27.”
“Galloping five furlongs under no pressure is so very different from a race - he could have travelled for most of the journey at Huntingdon and then bang, he'd have hit the wall. So it is better to find out before the dress-rehearsal as no damage has been done and we can get him ready for Kempton." added the Barbury Castle handler.
